Choosing from this range

Springs, ropes, wheels and upholstery are consumables. On a machine designed to be serviced they are a routine replacement; on one that is not, their failure is what ends the machine. Keeping them replaced on schedule is what makes the difference between a reformer that lasts twenty years and one that feels tired at five.

Match replacements to the original specification rather than to rate alone — free length and end fitting both affect how a spring behaves at the carriage home position.

What to check when ordering parts

  • Your model and serial number, which determine fitment
  • Spring free length and end fitting, not just the rate
  • Replace springs and ropes as a set or in pairs, never singly
  • Wheels as a full set, so the carriage sits level
  • Order before the service, so a machine is not left part-dismantled

MOTR Replacement Items — frequently asked questions

  • How often should reformer springs be replaced?
Every three to five years in studio use, longer at home. Measure unloaded free length against the manufacturer spec — a fatigued spring sits long.
  • Can I replace just one spring or rope?
Replace springs as a set and ropes in pairs. A new component alongside a fatigued one creates an asymmetry that clients feel and teachers may misread.
  • How do I know which parts fit my machine?
Model and serial number determine fitment. Photograph the serial plate when the machine is delivered — ordering the right part years later depends on it.
